Diploma in Special Education

Diploma Course in Special Education (Hearing Impaired) [D.S.E.]:

The course provides training for students to become special teachers/educators of hearing impaired/deaf children, at integrated or special schools. This course is recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India [RCI] and is conducted in technical collaboration with Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai.


Duration - 2 years (annual scheme)


Intake - 20 seats ( Reservation as per Government rules)


Admission Eligibility:

  1. Candidates must have passed 12th standard/PUC/Pre-Degree in any subject from any recognized state or central board.

  2. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks (for general) and 40% (for SC/ST).

  3. Candidates should be above 17 years of age at the time of admission.


Mode of Selection:

  • The selection will be based on merit i.e., marks obtained by the candidates in their subjects, combined with results of interviews held by the Institute faculty.

  • Preference will be given to candidates already working in special schools/ NGO establishments and sponsored by employer.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with higher educational qualifications.
