BACHELORS IN SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY & AUDIOLOGY (BSLPA):

Students enrolled in this program are given intensive training in both theoretical and clinical aspects of speech, language and hearing (both normal and disordered). The aim of the program is to provide students with basic skills required to diagnose and treat patients with speech, language and hearing disabilities. The undergraduate program is affiliated to Bangalore University and is recognized by Rehabilitative Council of India (RCI).


Duration of Course - 6 semester course (3 years) with 2 semester compulsory internship (10 months).


Intake - 40 students per batch (50% of seats are reserved for students of Bangalore University).


Admission Eligibility:

  1. Admissions are open to all candidates who have

  • Passed 12th standard (10 + 2)/ pre-degree or pre-university from Karnataka pre-university board or any other board/ body considered equivalent thereof, from any state in India or abroad.

  • Specialized in optional subjects such as physics (P), chemistry (C), biology (B) and/or mathematics (M) and/or computer science (CSc) and/or electronics (E), in addition to English + any other language.

  • Obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (relaxable in the case of SC/ST by 5 %) in any 3 of the optional subjects with the following combinations- PCM, PCB, PMCSc or PME.

  1. Candidates should be above 17 years and below 25 years of age at the time of admission.

  2. Minimum percentage of marks and age are subject to relaxation for special category students as per Bangalore University norms.

Note: Eligibility criteria and syllabus is subject to revision as per Rehabilitation Council of India and Bangalore University norms from time to time.


Mode of selection:

The selection will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in their optional subjects.
